Spicy Coconut Chips Recipe

A while back when browsing through some foreign food things at a shop, I came across these spicy coconut chips. They were totally yummy but when I went back to the same shop, they didn’t sell them anymore. Since it is an American brand and I live in Germany, I had no way to get to them. Hence I decided to make something similar! I present to you… Spicy Coconut Chips!

They are everything I love in a snack. Crunchy, salty and spicy. And let’s not forget, absolutely addictive! I let several family members taste them and basically had to run away from them with the leftovers. If there’s only one thing you will make this week, let it be this recipe! You will not be disappointed.

These spicy coconut chips are super easy to make. You need coconut chips, spices and some oil. Coconut chips are made from creamy coconut flesh and are baked to make them crispy. We are making them even crispier and adding flavor! You need to mix the spices together, pour them over the coconut chips together with the oil and mix everything together. The mixture in the bowl already smells so good at this point! And the color – isn’t it just beautiful?

Then you add the coconut chips to a baking tray and make sure they mostly don’t overlap. Put them in the oven for 18 minutes and let cool off a bit. Voila! You’re done! Wasn’t that super easy? You don’t really wanna invest more time into a snack, right? Now dig in!

We have only eaten the spicy coconut chips straight like this but I think they would be great sprinkled on top of salad too! Or how about on top of a stir-fry or a curry? I can see lots of great uses for them. Will you be eating them just like that or putting them on top of a dish?

Coconut Chips have several great health benefits. They are a great source of dietary fibre and a good source of medium-chain-fatty-acids. This saturated fat tends to be used up as energy so you feel full for longer.

So what are you waiting for? When will you be making these?

Or are you more of a sweet snacker? Have you tried my vegan and refined sugar free Chocolate Cherries yet?
